Several people have asked me
"WHY do THE LION IN WINTER ? Why not something simpler? Cheaper?"
It's a good question.
My reply is WHY NOT do THE LION IN WINTER ?
It's an incredibly good play. Well researched , witty, thought provoking , entertaining, historical,
exciting , funny, touching.
It is also a difficult play to do because of it's historical setting (1183).
It is a somewhat pricey show do to the setting and royalties.
However, if it was easy, then wouldn't everyone be doing it?
Theatre should be fun , but who says it cannot be challenging too?
To do the show justice, we need people who delight in quality theatre to support us.
