THE LION IN WINTER wins FIVE 2025 BROADWAY WORLD AWARDS

Well, this was a nice button to our first production in our new location
When we moved to Rochester, NY , from the NYC area, I was fearful that there would be very little creativity , art, and especially theatre.
I was so very pleased to find out that , like Rick in CASABLANCA talking about the waters, I was very very misinformed .
Rochester , NY has a wonderful artistic community . While professional theatre in the area are limited ( GEVA and touring companies being the biggest) , there are a lot of theatre companies in the area.
Our first production was the well received THE LION IN WINTER .
MuCCC is a wonderful performance space, intimate and yet spacious enough to do a show set in a French Castle in 1183 .
When the 2025 BROADWAY WORLD AWARDS were announced, TETCNY's THE LION IN WINTER was nominated for EIGHT AWARDS :

BEST ENSEMBLE
BEST LIGHTING DESIGN : KENNY DEBOT
BEST MUSIC DIRECTION & ORCHESTRA PERFORMANCE : FLYNN AYERS
BEST PERFORMER IN A PLAY : AARON DUCLOS, FELIZA BASCARA - ZOHAR, ELIZABETH DEFISHER
BEST PLAY : THE LION IN WINTER
BEST SOUND DESIGN OF A PLAY OR MUSICAL : FLYNN AYERS
BEST SUPPORTING PERFORMER IN A PLAY : BRANDAN BOOKER, PARKER ANA- CRUSIS, WANYA SIMMONS, XAVIER BURGOS .
The MUCCC performance space was also nominated for FAVORITE LOCAL THEATRE.
When the voting was finally done, we had won for

BEST PLAY
BEST ENSEMBLE
BEST MUSIC DIRECTION
BEST SOUND DESIGN
This was only possible because of the wonderful team both on and off stage who gave of their time and talent to make the show as wonderful as it was.
It is nice to be acknowledged and welcomed into the Rochester NY artistic community . I hope that we can continue to bring entertaining and thoughtful theatre to the area.
Our next show is THE DRESSER by Ronald Harwood. Many of the same team both on and off stage are returning, and we are lucky to have many wonderful new people join us on the creative journey.

Will we be nominated in 2026? Who knows? There are many fine companies up here, and I hope that you also patronize and support them as well -- though don't forget about our merry band !!!
