AFTER LION , PRE DRESSER

It has been a little over 2 months since THE LION IN WINTER played at the MuCCC in Rochester, NY.

As we are prepping for our next planned production , THE DRESSER by Ronald Harwood ,I thought we could explore what many of our cast and crew are up to. Many of them will hopefully be working with us on THE DRESSER .

Director Kevin G Shinnick has tried out for shows at GEVA and other productions ,as well as prepping to direct THE DRESSER while raising funds . https://fundraising.fracturedatlas.org/the-ensemble-theatre-company-of-new-york

Assistant Director Lisa A Frisone has auditioned for a Hallmark film and helping out on preparations for THE DRESSER .

Stage Manager Julie Cook has returned to school to get her Bachelor's Degree !

Feliza Bascara-Zohar(Queen Eleanor) , Elizabeth DeFisher (Princess Alais) , Wanya Simmons (Prince Geoffrey), and Xavier Burgos (Prince John) are all performing in A TALE OF TWO CITIES , which opens May 29th,2025 . https://www.muccc.org/events/the-open-road-theatre-presents-a-tale-of-two-cities

Feliza is also working on two original solo performance pieces for the upcoming 2025 Rochester Fringe Festival this fall.

Wayna has also been cast in an upcoming independent movie (details under wraps) .

Brandan Booker , our Richard the Lionheart , is very busy , working on the process of joining the U.S. AIR FORCE !

Parker Moran (King Phillip) has been continuing her studies at Nazareth University . She is currently back in Chicago where she is directing some shows .

Our lighting designer Kenneth DeBot is continuously busy, having designed the lighting for THE FERRYMAN, ONCE UPON THIS MATTRESS (as well as set design), A TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL ,KMS DANCE RECITAL , and upcoming projects BEAUTIFUL (crew) ,RCP Shakespeare in the Park ,and Bristol Valley Theatre Summer Season . Did I mention it has been less than 3 months since LION that he has done all this?

Michael Pilla , our creative Marketer (https://pillacm.com) ,got hit with Covid, but is bouncing back. He and his wife are celebrating 22 years together (17 married).

Lightboard operator Katie Garver is still busy working at M.T. ED (where we rehearsed for LION) .

She will be directing some shows there for children in the 2nd to 4th grade. https://www.musicaltheatreeducation.com

Elyse Pommerville (crew) is busy working upon her art & music .

David Broadnax (crew ) is keeping very busy as a teaching assistant .

Nicole Simpson (special constructions) is busy fixing up her new home as well as creating pieces like a WIND MACHINE for THE DRESSER .

The Flying Squirrel ( https://thesquirrel.org ) continues to serve the Rochester NY community in so many necessary ways . Besides offering rehearsal and performance space for performers and musicians (we rehearsed 1 week of LION there) , it has a small academic conference space & public lecture space,and a community kitchen ,all at a low cost. If you can, donate or volunteer to this wonderful organization .
